SGA Senate Meeting Agenda September 13, 2004 5:00 PM Lounge C I. Call to Order: 5:02 PM II. Welcome III. Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve the minutes, 2nd, passed IV. President’s Report a. Reception: Thank you for attending reception. b. SGA Night: Ed Pulaski contacted Kenda regarding a SGA night at the basketball game in connections with the APC. c. Conference Affiliation: Radford has the option to switch conference; we would switch to Atlanta Sun as opposed to Big South. Kenda will be email information, and we will have Dr. Pomerantz and Mr. Denny to come and give more information next week. We will not be voting next week but we will be discussion issue d. Candidate Forum: Friday, 17th, we will need someone to come and attend candidate session, let Kenda know if you can go. e. Jerry Kilgore: Current Attorney General will be here on the 20th to discuss position and higher education. He is running in the gubernatorial election next year. The event is at 3:30PM V. Executive Vice President’s Report a. Forum date have been moved to Tuesday September 28th, at 7:00 in Heth Ballroom b. Ring Ceremony-anyone who wants to help let Ashley know VI. Legislative Vice President’s Report a. Elections started today and go till tomorrow, 23 candidates for 5 positions, contact Shannon if you want to know more about her job VII. Vice President of Student Finance Report a. No report VIII. Advisor’s Report a. October 26th, 5:30-for off campus students, talk about how you feel alcohol use affects you and your area IX. Cabinet/Staff Reports a. Secretary-mailboxes, retreat-info on retreat for Sunday, 19th b. School Spirit-Mascot-Ideas for a new mascot. Adrianne met with committee and committee wants our support for the new ideas. They want to do this because we have had same mascot for past years, want something new, concerns about what students think a Highlander is, new mascot will allow for more movement, new traditions. If you have any more questions contact Adrianne at makelly. c. Chief of Staff and webmaster need photos of everyone and a paragraph regarding your position so the students can learn about your position d. Home coming is October 8-9. Homecoming Nominations open to Crystal Hagen, Brittany Fairchild, Sarah Prevette, Rachel Lythgoe, Ashley Anderson, Chris McVicker, Dan Blake, and Bobby Grant.
