Student Government Association Senate Meeting Agenda November 5th, 2007 I. Call to order: 5:02 II. Reading of the University Creed III. Roll Call IV. Approval of Minutes 5:02 pm V. Presentation of Guests a. Meredith Friedman – Core Curriculum Committee i. Meredith presented the proposed changes to the core curriculum. VI. President’s Report a. Board of visitors i. Regis was in attendance at the board of visitors meeting last Tuesday and Thursday. Some of the highlights from the meeting and the 7-17 plan; Radford will be offering a doctorate in psychology in fall 2008. Radford is being surveyed to be expanded. The university will be pushing for diversity during this stretch. b. Open house i. The open house is Saturday from 2:30 to 6:30 in Heth Ballroom. SGA representatives will be promoting the university and SGA. c. Commencement Marshalls i. Volunteers are needed to help with commencement. VII. Executive Vice President a. The State of the student body address November 27th at 7 in the bonnie auditorium. VIII. Legislative Vice President a. Senate vacancies i. College of health and human services senator and 1 at-large senator are vacant. If you have any names for recommendation bring them to the next meeting. VI. Student Finance Vice President a. Budget process timeline i. January 21st the student finance committee will start looking at the budget. b. Dance department one-time funding request i. Request money for their production which was approved. VII. Senate Reports a. Senior class senator i. Commencement meeting replacement b. Freshman Class Senator i. CoCo Committee – Several new clubs have been approved. Others are currently tabled. VIII. Chief Of Staff IX. Cabinet/Staff Reports a. Athletic promotions coordinator i. Basketball game – First home game is next Wednesday the 14th. b. SGA Historian i. Student Health Advisory Committee – Discussed stating a survey to possibly change health center hours.
