Student Government Association Senate Meeting Minutes April 2, 2007 I. Call to Order-5:20 PM II. Approval of Minutes a. Minutes Approved III. President’s Report a. Student Affairs Committee i. Met Thursday, had a long discussion about initiatives and accomplishment, there was a lot of good open dialogue among the students and the BOV b. Board of Visitors i. They met on Friday, tuition is increasing by 6%, they were in closed session most of the day c. Relay for Life i. Only a few people have signed up for this event, its only 10 dollars and we would encourage a strong showing d. Senior Week i. The main dinner will be April 26th at 6 at RU west, CAB/BAP have a lot of events planned and the discount cards will be sent out soon IV. Executive Vice President a. Awards Ceremony i. Jen is sending the envelope around to for can you imagines, the ceremony will be April 24th at 6 at the Bondurant center, all the awards have been finalized, we need to also revote for the faculty member of the year which the top 4 are Stacey Griffin, Bill Hrezo, Karin Casteel, Steve Lerch. V. Legislative Vice President a. Constitution Revisions i. Andrea is going to be working on revisions specifically concerning elections, if you have any ideas for revisions please tell Andrea b. Relay for Life VI. Vice President of Student Finance a. Budget Hearings- BACCHUS and CPC i. SFC met today and this was the last budget hearing, CPC is asking for level funding, and BACCHUS is asking for $41.29 increase for next year. The arts also came in to discuss their revenue and what should be done. Currently some of the arts revenue accounts do not come back to SFC VII. Senate Report VIII. Cabinet/Staff Reports a. Chief of Staff i. SGA Social 1. SGA social is tonight after the meeting at Mi Puerto b. APC i. There is free hot dogs and drinks at the game on Wednesday at 3 c. Pebbles i. The Freshman blow it out will be on April 14th and Pebbles will update us with more information next week IX. Council Reports a. ISAC i. International Banquet/Week 1. Saturday April 7th from 6-8PM, tickets are available at the Bonnie Information Desk 2. This is international week so please look in your e-mails as the itinerary for the week was sent out. b. GSC i. The undergraduate/graduate mixer is this Thursday at Lucas Hall X. Old Business XI. New Business XII. Announcements a. Robin i.
