We would like observe a minute of silence for Blake IV. Executive Vice President a. Forum Tonight at 7PM in Heth Lounge B i. The event is mandatory, there will be a set of questions that will be distributed at the forum, and you should be in Business attire V. Legislative Vice President a. Elections i. Elections are Tomorrow and Wednesday b. Announcement Ceremony i. 4 O’clock on Wednesday in Heth lounge c c. Run-Off Elections i. They will be the week following the break at the same time original elections are held and run offs will be announced at the announcement ceremony VI. Vice President of Student Finance a. Budget Hearings- Leadership i. Leadership is asking for an increase in both their Leadership and Awards accounts due to an increase in attendance/use of the SLR, increase participation in Conferences, increase in award prices due to an addition of awards and maintenance, ii. AEC 1. asked for a 7000+ increase and asked that their revenue remain consistent b. Budget Close Outs VII. Senate Report a. Junior Class Senator i. COSGA/Collegiate Program 1. They have brought back lots of good ideas from the conference especially the collegiate readership programs which brings national and/or local newspapers to keep updated with information, the papers would be maintained by having a bin that would be activated by student swipe cards, it would roughly cost 6 dollars per student, there are also other benefits such as resources at their online website ii. Highlander Olympics 1. They are thinking about not doing the highlander challenge during next years homecoming, so now they are trying to streamline homecoming with the highlander Olympics now b. At-large-Meredith i. Planning and Budget Committee 1. Met on Friday, went over the 6 year strategic plan, each committee member submitted their top priorities with the plan which was primarily focused on academics, President Kyle sent down a request to the committee to formulate ideas to change the image of Radford, a pharmaceutical school has been mentioned c. Pebbles i. AIDS awareness from 11-4PM in the bottom of the Bonnie and there will be free testing this Thursday at the Health Center, please stop by and show support towards this cause ii. FYC is underway to preparing their next event and they will have more information regarding the event next meeting d. Rochelle i. IRTC 1. Laptop computer requirements, Rochelle needs a group to help look at and test Apple Computers, please e-mail Rochelle if your interested 2. COSGA a. Student Involvement with elections i. We are currently doing well with our election numbers and Rochelle has brought ideas back to increase voter participation with elections, face book, user-friendly websites, SGA announcements to students in political science and government classes, monthly information letter, give-a-ways, VIII. Cabinet/Staff Reports a. Nikole i. Passed around the binder so please fill that out ii. COSGA 1. Different universities having DD services a. We will try to put together some ideas about the service and research this issue IX. Council Reports a. GSC-Jenni i. The graduate open house went really well last week and they will be holding their undergraduate/graduate student mixer on April 8th from 5-7PM b. ISAC ISAC is putting on there 16th annual international banquet on April 7th from 6-8PM and Rochelle will be sending an e-mail out about participation and attending for the event X. Old Business XI. Went to the subcommittee meeting for the student affairs committee, a lot of the discussion dealt with date and admissions, but they will be having another meeting here shortly b. Rochelle i. The copy write action committee met two weeks ago and they have come up with actions for students who violate copy write laws, the first offense will be a warning as well as they will be educated regarding policies, second offense is taking away privileges for a week, third offense they will lose privileges for 30 days and a conduct strike, 60 days or 1 year termination access for 4th offense c.
