What's good, RU?! I'm a senior from Seoul, Korea working on a B.S. in Information Science and Systems; Web Development (and a minor in Media Studies). This is my third year in the SGA, with previous positions as the International Student Affairs Council Chair and the College of Science and Technology Senator. I am the webmaster for Habitat for Humanity (RU chapter) and Upsilon Pi Epsilon (the national computer science honors fraternity). My name is Ashley Hall and I am the Senior Class Senator! I am from Franklin County, VA and I am majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in international education. I love being involved in SGA because I love Radford University, and I want to help make every student's experience as great as mine has been. This year I have many goals and one of them is to start a Collegiate Readership program that will allow students to receive news from around the world, through the distribution of newspapers around campus. I also want to change the current school excused absence policy here at Radford.  I would like our faculty members to not hold our absences against us if we have a formal excuse for not being in class. I also will be planning the Highlander Olympics, which is an event that will help recognize the many talents of our fellow Radford University students. And who could forget planning all the senior week events? If you ever have comments or suggestions please email me or come to our weekly meetings at 5:00 p.m. on Mondays. Hello, my name is Nana “T-Chee” Kum and I am the Junior Class Senator for the 2007-2008 school calendar year. I was born in Ghana, West Africa and I currently reside in Northern Virginia. I am majoring in Computer Science and a minor in Business Administration. I am highly involved with the office of Residential Life and the office of New Student Programs. As a Resident Assistant one of my top priorities is the student body here on campus and with that said I have taken it upon myself to be a voice for the student body so I can relate any concerns they may have to the SGA board. As your Junior Class Senator I want to increase diversity here on campus through programming and educational forums. One of my other goals is to help fundraise for the Junior Class. My name is Ashley Bolt and I am the Sophomore Class Senator. I am from Farmville, VA and I am majoring in pre-nursing. This is my first year in SGA, and I couldn’t be more excited! My freshman year at Radford was amazing, and I hope to continue that this year by helping others get more involved and have amazing experiences as well. My number one priority this year is to help raise money for the sophomore class by putting on awesome events and to also relay ideas from all of my fellow students. Hello, My name is Kelsie Donahue and I am your Freshman Class Senator! I am from Forest, Virginia and am a Pre-Nursing major. I am very excited to be on SGA and can not wait to serve you, the Freshman Class 2011 of Radford University! I have many new ideas and goals I would like to see happen over the next four years and can not wait to get started now! I would like to get your help and support in creating a skate park for our fellow students. This will give students somewhere to hang out and skate without being on campus amidst all the commotion of other students. I would also like to like start a Triathlon for Radford University, which could be held every spring and fall with proceeds going to research for Alzheimer's, Suicide Awareness and our Freshman Class. Hi everyone! My name is Lauren McMillan and I am your 2007-2008 College of Business and Economics Senator. I am originally from Roanoke, Virginia, where I attended Patrick Henry High School. I’m a double major in Management and Marketing here at RU, and I will be graduating in May 2008! I’m so happy to serve you all on the Student Government Association this year. I love Radford and I am looking forward to all of the events we have planned for the upcoming school year! Some of my goals for this year include, but are not limited to, a major COBE event in the Spring, helping to plan the Highlander Olympics (which will be a university-wide event challenging students in a variety of categories), and increasing community involvement within Radford city! My name is Jordan Draper and I am a sophomore at Radford University. My current position is now Chief of Staff but I previously help the Legislative Action Coordinator this year as well. I am from New Castle, Delaware so coming to Radford was a long but worthwhile commute. I love Radford University and I am very happy I get to represent it through my Chief of Staff position in SGA.  With this title I hope to effectively help out the cabinet and staff as well as voice our students opinions more. Hello, my name is Matt Tortora and I am the Secretary for SGA this year. I’m currently a junior and majoring in Communication. This is my first year in SGA. As secretary, it is my duty to ensure that the minutes are recorded and distributed to the rest of SGA as well as the student body. I am also in charge of the SGA office and attendance for each member to our senate meetings and office hours. Along with that I also report directly to the Chief of Staff and the executive members and make sure any task for them gets done. I am a Communications major with a concentration in Public Relations.  I am originally from Roanoke, Virginia and I graduated from Cave Spring High School. As a former Senior Class President and a very active leader in my school, I am really looking forward to representing my fellow classmates here at Radford. Other than being on SGA this year, I am also a Student Admissions Representative and a member of PRSSA here on campus. Last year as a freshman, I participated in the very first year of SGA’s First Year Council. I can not wait to work to promote and help intensify our school spirit here at Radford.  I also will take an active role in the annual Homecoming events as well as our many sporting events on campus throughout the year.  Being named “Most School Spirited” in high school, I know I am very excited and ready to bring our spirit here at Radford University to a whole new level. Everyone is always welcome to email me about anything.

(as we say in North Carolina).  My name is Kathy Douglas and I am the Chair of the 2007-2008 Graduate Student Council.  I am a 2nd year graduate student in the Masters of Social Work Program here at RU and a Graduate Teaching Fellow.  I received my Bachelors of Social Work from RU in ...... , well let's just say a while back!  LOL  I was born and raised in Virginia, but have lived with my family in Charlotte, North Carolina for the past 7 years.  Our goals for the GSC this year are to make graduate students feel more a part of the RU family and to let you undergrads know we are around!!!!!!!!!  Watch for us at sporting and other events on campus. We would love to have your join us on the council.  Check us out on the GSC webpage at http://gsc-web.asp.radford.edu/.

My name is Carleta and I'm the ISAC president here at RU. I am so glad that I can be apart of this ground breaking year as a part of ISAC. We're a totally new club this year that's extremely excited and open to new ideas. ISAC to me is a club that allows for each and every opinion idea or even religious view to be expressed. As ISAC president I aim to promote better understanding & acceptance of differences in cultures in and around the Radford community.
