My role is to assist the SGA executive board with any project they are in need of help with. Some things I’ll be working to achieve this year are: Faculty vs. Student Spirit week (sporting games, relay games, pie in the face, etc.), enhancing Recycle Mania to Recycle Mania Monthly, holding a “How to Budget Your Money” forum/program, getting different food venues open on campus on weekends, having the portal be accessible for black berry phones (requests from several students already).
As part of Student Government Association, I am here to represent you. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, criticisms, concerns, or brilliant ideas. I am here to serve the student body here at Radford University.
I am a sophomore majoring in Social Work and minoring in Psychology. I am part of Student Finance Committee, First Year Council, New Student Programs (Peer Instructor), Radford University Ambassadors (Outreach Chair), Honors Academy Student Organization (Liaison), and Resident Hall Association/Quad Council (Governors Quad Senator).
My motto: “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” - Henry Ford
I am here to help the executive officers perform their duties. I also want to promote diversity and connect the campus..
I am a sophomore majoring in Computer Science with a Networks concentration, and I have a Math minor. I'm Vice President of Men of Standards (MOS), and Treasurer of NAACP Radford Chapter.
This year my role in SGA will be to work with the many diversity groups on campus. Another role is supporting the other members in SGA in whatever it is they choose to do throughout the year and working hard to make sure that SGA regains its reputation as the sole student body voice. One of my main goals for this year is to form the Diversity Council that will incorporate representatives from several of the diversity groups on campus into one group where they can discuss what is going on with their respective groups and when they are planning on hosting events. Another goal of mine is to increase SGA's involvement and attendance at events that are being hosted by diversity groups on campus.
Radford University is where my heart and passion lies. I am dedicated to making this university the best if can be for its students and making this a place where future students can take pride in. The Student Government Association is here for you and our sole purpose is to serve the entire student body. As Diversity Promotions Coordinator, I am going to strive to be in communication with as many diversity groups as I possibly can and make sure that I get ideas and an on-going interaction between the various groups.
I am a senior, and my major is Political Science with a minor in History. I am a Highlander Scholar, and my student organization activities include Student Government Association, Political Science Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Honors Academy Student Organization, Phi Alpha Theta, Student Admissions Representative, and Student Finance Committee.
My motto: “Rely on your own strength of body and soul. Take for your star self-reliance, faith, honesty and industry. Don't take too much advice — keep at the helm and steer your own ship, and remember that the great art of commanding is to take a fair share of the work. Fire above the mark you intend to hit. Energy, invincible determination with the right motive, are the levers that move the world.” - Noah Porter
My responsibility is to promote different athletic clubs and teams throughout campus, while at the same time trying to encourage students to be involved in different clubs. Some of my goals for this year are to get more students involved in athletic activities, reaching a larger base of students by creating more sporting tournaments, and also extending it to different gaming tournaments. I also want to do a survey to hear what students want. I want to find the activities you want and like and bring them to you.
I am a Political Science major and a member of intramural Football Club.
My role is to promote school events and unity by stirring up school spirit, taking an active roll in our Homecoming planning, and planning two SGA days. I would like to see a lot of packed stadiums full of RU pride, by working along with the Athletic Promotions Coordinator advertising and promoting school events to stir up school spirit. I would also like to see larger turn outs for campus events through SGA by promoting them as much as possible.
I look forward to working with the SGA and student body to help make this school the best that it can be. Feel free to email me anytime with questions or ideas.
I am a junior majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with an English Technical Writing minor.

As Historian, I am responsible for taking photos of events that take place through out the academic year. I will make a yearbook/scrapbook from these events that can be accessed by the student body whenever they please. I also plan to make individual scrapbooks for each of the members of the SGA documenting their successes throughout the year. I would also like to work on the Centennial Committee. I would like to take as many photos as I possibly can, so the SGA can become more recognized on campus.
Make it out to RU and SGA events this year! I will have an album on my Facebook and you can tell me which photos you like the best, and I guarantee that whichever photo people like best will be used the official 2009-2010 SGA yearbook/scrapbook.
I am a senior Sociology major. I plan to go on to graduate school to study biodefense with a concentration in homeland security. My dream is to work for the Department of Homeland Security as a research and data analyst. My motto: It's okay to make mistakes, because unlike those that never mess up, you learn a great deal about yourself and grow from it and strive to become the person you know you can be.
Hello fellow Highlanders! As your Legislative Action Coordinator it is my job to help plan the big trip to Richmond, SGA and the student body take each year called the Advocacy Trip. If you are a current Radford University student, then you are a member of the Student Government Association. Our student body is governed by students, for students. The university exists for the benefit of students. We deserve to, and do, have influence in university-wide policies and student activity funding.
SGA is the voice of the student body. And we cannot be your voice without your help. So look around our website, get familiar with some of the things we do, and contact us whenever you have questions, ideas, or concerns; need guidance on university procedures; need help with an event; or just want to say hi. All of us working together will make Radford a truly special place and a life-changing experience.
This year SGA endeavors to closely listen to student
opinion and be a channel for open communication between
students and the administration and faculty. We’re
taking a hands-on approach to achieving goals like
increasing school spirit, sustainability, diversity
awareness, and service on campus. We also sponsor many
fun events ranging from Homecoming to the Highlander
Olympics. We believe in open access to information,
student leadership, integrity, excellence, and constantly
bettering RU and the student experience.
